The Advent season is a four-week period before Christmas that celebrates the anticipation and coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. The origin of "advent" is from the Latin word adventus, which

Thirdly, to be "in Christ" brings radical transformation. We are always in danger of trivializing what it means to be converted, or to be a follower of Jesus. To be "in Christ" is to be radically transformed, to the roots of our very being. As Paul says, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.".Clearly, the phrase "richly blesses all who call on him" cannot be speaking of salvation, as those who "call" already "believe," according to verse 14. To conclude, Romans 10:9-10 is not establishing public confession as a prerequisite for salvation. Rather, it is asserting that, when someone trusted Christ and subsequently Christ's obedience was an all-the-way obedience. A true obedience. He did not obey for a time, as long as it was comfortable, and then try another path. No, he obeyed to the point of death. Real obedience endures in obedience. Christ did not begin in obedience and then surrender to disobedience once the greatest of threats loomed. Many passages of the Bible teach that salvation is through faith alone, not faith plus works. Ephesians 2:8-9, for example, is clearly worded and unequivocal: "It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.". Of great importance is the (5) Abound in us. —Better, overflow to us. The sufferings of Christ, as in 1Peter 4:13; 1Peter 5:1 (the Greek in 1Peter 1:11 expresses a different thought), are those which He endured on earth; those which, in His mysterious union with His Church, are thought as passing from Him to every member of His body, that they too may drink of the cup that He drank of. Verse 2: "Christ loved you, and gave himself." The giving of himself is the demonstration of his love. Second, notice that the cost of his love was himself —his life. It was not just money or time or energy or inconvenience or even suffering; it was the full extent of sacrifice. He gave himself. 3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a
The God of All Comfort — Hannah Whitall Smith "My soul wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defense; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation, and my glory: the rock of my strength and my refuge is in God."
2 Corinthians 12:9New International Version. 9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.". Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. Heavenly Father, the whole meaning of Christmas can be explained in one little four-letter word…LOVE. You sent your gift of pure love to us that first Christmas. Love descended from heaven to be born of a virgin. Love lay in the scratchy hay of a manger in a meager barn in Bethlehem. Pq5f.
